FIRST FREE WORKSHOP UNDER THE JDS&E EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVE  -  TUTORED BY ADELE KENT

Warrington and District F C had a wonderful workshop evening with JDSE Chairman and Tutor Adele Kent. What stunning designs.

Werrington and District flower Club had their free JDSE workshop on 9th  August, Adele stepped in as the original tutor was unable to attend.

We had 9 very enthusiastic ladies take part on a very wet day-break from the very hot weather- one lady had discovered them on Facebook and is going to join the club, fantastic.

On Saturday 18th August , Littleport and District held their JDSE workshop, thanks to the hard work of the committee they had 22 ladies of mixed abilities -some ladies who had never done any flower arranging- a fun time was had by all. We had enough flowers in the hall to make a wonderful show of flower arranging and it was so lovely to see everyone sharing tips and experiences. They also put photos in the local paper and magazine.

Dereham and District Flower Club Workshop with Susan Horne 1ST DECEMBER 2018

A workshop funded by Area was held in Toftwood Methodist Church on 1st December.  We were allocated Susan Horne to tutor the workshop.  As there is concern about the overuse of floral foam we asked if she could show a design without foam.

The object of the workshop was to encourage non-members to attend with a view to interesting them in joining a flower club.  Initially we had 9 non-members interested although only 6 attended.  There were 10 flower club members present as well.

Susan brought along straw wreath rings which we embellished with fresh foliage, flowers and baubles.  Even though we had 6 novices everyone achieved this.

In the afternoon we did a candle pot. Again everyone achieved this design. One person present who had never arranged before emailed pictures of her redesigned pot which she re-did when she got home.

All in all it was a very enjoyable day and we are hopeful that those present may well join us at Flower Club in the new year.

November 9th 2019 - WORKSHOP AT COSTESSEY FLOWER CLUB - TUTOR BARBARA COLLINS

Education Intiative  December 2019-12-07

19 members & 8 non members, some completely new to flower arranging, enjoyed a fun and informative workshop today with NAFAS East of England area tutor Adele Kent.

2 designs were created; firstly a table arrangement using a deco tray, copper mesh wire & covered sticks.

Secondly a Pave (Tapestry design) either using a shallow dish with floral foam or a posy pad.

Such a variety of plant material & accessories no two designs were the same.

Adele was a great tutor, very helpful with her knowledge & advice which was very much appreciated.

We had planned initially at this time of the year for our members to have one of the usual workshops but decided to combine it with  the East of England area education initiative to bring flower arranging to those who have not tried to arrange flowers before.

Everyone went home feeling very festive having created two beautiful designs.

We handed out a feedback form

All felt they had learnt something new from the workshop, enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and several of our ‘new to flower arranging’ ladies will consider coming along to one of flower club meetings next year.

Thank you Adele &  East of England’s Area Education.

It was a wonderful day.
