Judges

The National Judges Committee meets three times a year to oversee the many aspects of judging at both National and Area level. In addition to these meetings, a day is held every 18 months for the 21 Area Representatives to share good practice and exchange ideas.   Adjudicators and Instructors meet at least every 18 months to discuss updates to training and examination procedure.

NAFAS Judges are available to help in any location or size of a flower arranging show. Judges are qualified at both Area and National level and are happy to attend work nights at flower clubs to judge and give constructive comments relating to competitive work.

Qualified NAFAS Judges are able to offer their services to agricultural and horticultural shows as well as NAFAS Area Shows, National and International events.

Qualification tests for Area Judges are held regularly within the 21 Areas of NAFAS.  A test for National Judges is organised by the National Judges Committee at least once every three years.  Continuous Professional Development is addressed by holding a national conference as often as is practicable.

Training is also held for Adjudicators for Judges Tests and for Instructors. Instructors can provide Refresher Days for Areas and certificated sessions for trainee Judges.  There are times when assistance is required with training Overseas Judges and Judges are happy to travel to large international events and competitions.
